Catania are threatening legal action after Olympiacos failed to turn up to the airport for tonight's planned friendly.

The Greek side had been all set to fly over from Athens on a charter flight organised by Catania last night.

However, the Sicilian club released a statement confirming the friendly game was cancelled after Olympiacos didn't make the trip.

Catania have threatened legal action for their “gravely unacceptable behaviour,” as the plane was at Athens airport waiting all night.

“Olympiacos FC never gave a clear indication of their decision despite the fact Catania constantly offered communication and collaboration.”

Tonight's game at the Stadio Massimino will instead be against Lega Pro side Milazzo. Entrance is free and fans who bought tickets to see Olympiacos will be reimbursed.
