Tottenham had reportedly made a £7m offer for Argentina international defender Spolli this afternoon, but he used it as a bargaining chip for improved wages.
Tonight Catania officially announced Spolli had signed a new contract that will run until June 2016.
The Elefantini have also secured Italy Under-21 international left-back Biraghi on loan from Cittadella with an option to buy 50 per cent of his contract. The other half still belongs to Inter.
In other official news, Chievo have signed striker Ardemagni from Atalanta on loan with option to buy half his contract.
