Fiorentina midfielder Gaetano Castrovilli says he's keeping his feet planted firmly on the ground, and that he won't "ruin my reputation just for money."

The 22-year-old gave an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport and spoke of his season and his attitude to life.

"It hasn't sunk in yet. I scored my first goal against Milan, the team I supported as a child, and the next day I forgot about it. Maybe this is my strength. I don't know if it is because I am carefree, or if it's a subconscious thing, but this helps me. When I look in the mirror, I still see the little boy I was before.

"There is no danger of changing. I come from the streets and I don't want to ruin my reputation just for money. I come from a family of workers, simple people that have taught me to keep my feet on the ground, even if the wheel starts running fast."

Castrovilli says he doesn't think about the future, and takes it one day at a time.

"I don't think about it. I just live for today. Even now, I don't like making long-term plans."

The midfielder is suspended for tomorrow's game against Verona.
