Gaetano Castrovilli finally made his comeback after eight months out and got on the scoresheet too during Fiorentina’s 6-1 friendly win over Lugano, which saw a former Juventus player sent off.

The Viola had taken a 2-0 lead through Alfred Duncan’s strike on a Jonathan Ikone assist and then Ikone got the second himself after good work from Riccardo Saponara.

Lugano made the most of a Nikola Milenkovic error to bring one back, but went down to 10 men after former Juve youth team player Macek was shown a straight red card for his lunge from behind on Dodo just 33 minutes in.

Antonin Barak took centre stage in the second half with two goals, then Milenkovic made up for the earlier error by finding the net.

Castrovilli made his comeback at the 74th minute, having been ruled out since April with a serious knee injury.

The midfielder also got his name on the scoresheet with a delightful lob.
