Fiorentina midfielder Gaetano Castrovilli has ‘no fear’ after his return from a knee injury and is ‘happy’ with his goal against Juventus, even if it was disallowed.

The Italy international returned to action in January after sustaining a knee injury in April 2022.

“The mental aspect was the most important thing. I am feeling well now, I do not have fear when I do tackles. I feel the knee is stable and I am happy with how I’ve worked,” Castrovilli said at a press conference on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old was introduced in the second half of Sunday’s 1-0 loss against Juventus and scored the equaliser which VAR eventually disallowed.

“Even if it was disallowed, it made me happy, but I’ve already put it behind me because tomorrow we have an important game,” said the Italian midfielder.

The Tuscans visit Braga in the first leg of the Conference League play-offs tomorrow.

“We are working well, despite the results. We deserved something more in certain games, but now the pitch must do the talking. We must forget about the last five games and focus on tomorrow.”
