“It’s a great joy, it’s fantastic to gain promotion, especially in a club like this one. This is a tough league, I am delighted for what we have achieved,” the coach told DAZN.

“The group has been crucial, we’ve had a strong mentality and we reaped the rewards of our work.”

Castori had already gained Serie A promotion with Carpi in 2015.

“It’s my tenth promotion considering all competitions. I got promoted and relegated with Carpi, but I had promised myself I would have returned to Serie A and here I am. I am looking forward to beginning the next season.”

Now, Salernitana President Claudio Lotito will be forced to sell the club within 30 days as it is forbidden to own more than a club in Italy’s top flight.
