The Brazilian defender has played just once this season, and went under the knife to remove a brain malformation.
It was confirmed last week that the 28-year-old had been cleared to return, and Castan is this morning working with his teammates at Trigoria.
The centre-back will not undertake the whole session, however, instead undertaking some light ball work with his teammates before continuing with his personalised recovery plan in the gym.
