Timothy Castagne has confirmed that he is negotiating a new contract with Atalanta and urged his club to go through with signing Luis Muriel.
Napoli appeared to be pushing towards a deal for Castagne, but the Partenopei have since signed fellow full-back Giovanni Di Lorenzo.
The Belgian, for his part, is ready to commit himself to the Champions League debutants.
“In Bergamo I feel great, I’ve never hidden that,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“In Bergamo I feel great, I’ve never hidden that,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Now we’re negotiating a new contract. I’m calm, we’ll see what the signals will be from club officials.
“I think Napoli knocked on my agent’s door, but I don’t know much else about it.
“Serie A’s a very competitive tournament, I like it, but one day I’d like to play in the Premier League.
“As for the offers I’ll receive, I’ll be honest: there’s no shortage of them, but Atalanta are my priority.”
The 23-year-old was then asked about his breakthrough under Gian Piero Gasperini and reports his side could bring in Luis Muriel.
“In training I worked very hard, especially when I was out. The Coach saw that and believed in me,” he continued.
“It’s crucial that he stays. The project is going strong. Last year, especially in attack, we didn’t have a lot of options.
“If Gomez, Ilicic or Zapata got injured, it would’ve been a problem. I’ve also read about Muriel, let’s hope so!
“What a player he is, he’s very good. He can break matches open. Someone like him would be perfect.”
