Antonio Cassano suggested that Inter would ‘have to play as seven with Primavera kids’ to lose to Milan in the Champions League semi-finals.

The Rossoneri disappointed in the first leg of their European semi-final derby, looking outclassed in a painful 2-0 loss to the Nerazzurri. The absence of Rafael Leao and early injury to Ismael Bennacer left Stefano Pioli without the right options on the pitch, allowing Inter to take an important step forward.

The winner of Inter-Milan will face the winner of Manchester City-Real Madrid in the final in Istanbul next month, an incredibly tough clash for either of the Serie A representatives.

Speaking on BoboTV via FcInterNews, Cassano suggested that Milan have almost no chance to beat Inter and progress to the Champions League final.

“Inter have to play as seven, with Primavera kids, to be eliminated. And there is the risk that even then Milan won’t be able to beat them. With Leao or without, it changes little, Milan are inferior to Inter. The Portuguese is not Kaka or Ronaldinho, I don’t see him at that level.

“For me a catastrophe has to happen for Inter to go out. After the first leg, the performance of the last month and the two-goal lead, in my opinion there is no chance for the Rossoneri. Maybe I’ll make the wrong prediction for the umpteenth time…”

Whilst Milan slumped to a miserable 2-0 loss to Spezia on the weekend, Inter maintained their momentum with an important 4-2 win over Sassuolo.
