Antonio Cassano reveals Roma ‘had sold Francesco Totti to Chelsea’ and explains why he chose Real Madrid over Inter.
The former Italy striker played with Totti at Roma.
“I returned to the club after having played some great games at Euro 2004, Totti had made a mistake as he had spit at Christian Poulsen and Franco Baldini had sold him to Chelsea. I was the future of Roma,” Cassano said during a live Twitch stream with Bobo Vieri and Lele Adani.

“Totti found out about it and that’s where the problems begun," Cassano added.
The former Inter, Milan and Real Madrid star explained why he left the Giallorossi instead a few years later.
“I left Roma because of the contract extension. They didn’t keep their word.
“I thought I would join Inter, but [Ernesto] Bronzetti called me and said Real Madrid were interested in signing me. How could I turn their offer down? I had some doubts, but I couldn’t say no.
“I could have joined Juventus when I was at Bari, the two clubs had reached an agreement, but after three days Roma offered more money.
"I chose Rome they offered a higher salary, but I would have turned Juve down anyway, because I would last three days over there. It was not the right environment for me.”
