Antonio Cassano confirmed he’d “love to join Sampdoria to aim for Euro 2016, alternatively playing for Monaco.”

The 32-year-old is a free agent after terminating his contract with Parma in January due to six months of unpaid wages.

He has been spending time with his family during the second half of the season, including a vacation in the Maldives, but is ready to work again.

“I’d love to come back to Sampdoria and aim for a place at the 2016 European Championships,” he told Rai Sport show Dribbling.

FantAntonio has been repeatedly linked with a return to Samp, especially after President Massimo Ferrero announced he’s interested in signing Mario Balotelli from Liverpool.

He had perhaps the best spell of his career with the Blucerchiati from 2007 to January 2010, when he left following a furious row with then-President Riccardo Garrone.

Cassano has said on numerous occasions that argument was his biggest career regret.
