Antonio Cassano has reportedly been sent home from hospital for the first time in a week, as he continues to recuperate from heart surgery.
The Milan and Italy striker was rushed to hospital last Saturday when he suffered an ischemic attack – a mini-stroke – on the plane back from their 3-2 win at Roma.

According to several sources, Cassano was released late last night and will be able to watch Milan’s game with Catania from home this afternoon.
He went under the knife on Friday morning with a small ‘umbrella’ inserted into his heart to plug a hole between the two atriums.
The player will require absolute rest for 15-30 days and must take anti-coagulant medication to prevent blood clots for six months.
It’s believed Cassano could be back on the playing field in four to six months.
