Cassano: ‘Ready for comeback’

Antonio Cassano assures he is “not a former player, as I am still active and ready to come back if I find a project that interests me.”

Now 35, FantAntonio’s career had seemed to end over the summer when he signed for Hellas Verona as a free agent only to then change his mind a couple of weeks into pre-season training.

He had already been out of action for a year before that due to a contract dispute with Sampdoria.

Now 35, FantAntonio’s career had seemed to end over the summer when he signed for Hellas Verona as a free agent only to then change his mind a couple of weeks into pre-season training.

He had already been out of action for a year before that due to a contract dispute with Sampdoria.

“I am not a former player, as I am still active and ready to come back if I find a project that interests me,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I am convinced that I can win this final battle. I never had a serious injury in my career and can still give a great deal to football.

“I’m ready and weigh 85kg, just like when I was at Sampdoria.”

Cassano could be of interest to clubs like SPAL and Sassuolo, or Serie B outfit Virtus Entella.
