Antonio Cassano is by no means impressed with the Juventus run of eight consecutive Serie A victories. ‘People saying Juve are back. Back to what, being rubbish?’

The Bianconeri caught Milan in second place and set themselves up nicely for Friday night’s top of the table showdown with leaders Napoli at the Stadio Maradona.

Never a fan of Max Allegri’s style of football, Cassano remains unmoved by the recent successful streak of eight wins all without conceding a single goal.

“Allegri keeps saying one step at a time, the minimum objective is fourth place, which is a total lie that disgusts me,” Cassano told Christian Vieri’s BoboTV.

“He knows full well that Juve and Inter have the strongest squads in the league and they must challenge for the Scudetto. I don’t mind a difference of ideas, but if you take me for a ride then I will say it’s disgusting.

“Juventus fans aren’t stupid, I don’t care about hunger, aggressiveness, that’s if you are a small club, but at half-time playing at home you’ve got 44 per cent possession against Udinese…”

Cassano is no fan of Allegri and has said in the past he would never have signed for Juventus, but above all he is consistently in support of attacking, stylish football.

“Obviously, all the journalists, former players and friends say Juve are back. Back to what, being rubbish? They might even win everything, but aside from the game against Lazio, they were dreadful. In fact, against a Serie B side like Cremonese, they deserved to lose! At the last second the goalkeeper does a howler and Juve win.”

  1. He may want attention, but he said pretty much the truth albeit I’m not sure Inter has a stronger squad than Milan. Milan has built an arguably equal quality squad with less money.
