Antonio Cassano is still dealing with his muscular injury, which could mean serious trouble for his Sampdoria and Azzurri career.

The striker joined the Blucerchiati as a free transfer in hopes of rebooting his career after the unfortunate stint at Parma.

However a muscular injury that the striker suffered last week appears to be getting in the way, as the player is still in the process of healing.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Cassano joined his teammates for training this morning, but left them shortly afterwards to pursue an individual program.

Fantantonio had been training with weights and jogging individually over his time as a free agent, but his condition of form when joining the Doria was still very far from ideal.

La Gazzetta reports that Cassano had been working intensely with the team to regain his physical peak, but the injury spoiled all that, and his times of recovery are still uncertain.

The player's situation is further complicated by the excellent moment of Samp strikers Eder and Luis Muriel, who bar him from a starting berth unless he can convince Coach Walter Zenga to field an attacking trident.

The latter solution seems unlikely, considering the strength of the Eder-Muriel couple ahead.

Cassano has always shown attachment to the national team, but in spite of Coach Antonio Conte's statements that subs are welcome, it seems unlikely he will be at Euro 2016 if he is anything less than a starter for Sampdoria.
