Free agent Antonio Cassano is reported to have a one-and-a-half-year deal with Bari, should a Serie A offer not arise.

The fantasista has time until February 27 to select a team as a free agent after rescinding his contract with Parma.

Earlier reports from the Gazzetta dello Sport suggested that a proposed return to Inter had failed to materialise, but that a two-and-a-half-year offer from Bari had also been rejected in favour of waiting for other offers from Serie A.

However, Calciomercato.it reiterate a line from the Corriere del Mezzogiorno today that the 32-year-old has a provisional deal reached with his hometown team.

The contract with Bari would be for an initial 18-month period, with the possibility of a further season’s extension.

The player is said to have initially accepted to the deal, but is in the process of sorting out whether it would fit with his family plans. According to Calciomercato.it, Bari are expecting an answer by February 10.
