The tribunal was unable to make a decision today after hearing from witnesses, so Monday afternoon will bring the resolution of this contract saga.

“I am confident,” said President Garrone, whose blazing row with Cassano prompted this legal action to have the contract terminated for insubordination.

“As the victim in this situation, I had every right to intervene and that includes within the tribunal.”

Cassano did not attend the tribunal on Friday and was represented by agent Beppe Bozzo.

“Antonio did everything he could,” said the representative. “He apologised repeatedly, gave a statement to the tribunal and now there are all the elements required to make a decision.

“We won't know anything before Monday.”
