Former Italy Under-21 boss Pierluigi Casiraghi remembers Piermario Morosini. “Every Coach would want a player like” him.

The midfielder collapsed and died in Saturday’s Pescara-Livorno Serie B game at the age of 25.

“Every Coach would want a player like Piermario,” said Casiraghi. “I had him over two years in the Nazionale and he came with us to the European Championship in Sweden, playing the semi-final.

“He was a calm and polite lad. At 20 he was already mature for his age, partly because of everything he had been through.

“I will always remember his smile.”
