Pierluigi Casiraghi is being linked with the Cagliari job amid speculation that Pier Paolo Bisoli is likely to get the sack.

The Sardi dropped to 17th place in Serie A on Sunday after a 1-0 defeat at home to Genoa and have only picked up five points from their last eight games.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Casiraghi was seen visiting Cagliari's offices last night, leading to speculation that he will replace Bisoli.

Casiraghi left his post in charge of the Italy Under-21s last month after he failed to qualify his side for the European Championship and the London 2012 Olympics.

Nevertheless, Bisoli appears confident that he will keep his position at Sant'Elia.

Speaking after yesterday's match, he said: "I am calm because the lads played well and gave everything.

"I leave the decisions to the club, but I have my conscience in place."
