Palermo have told Inter that they will currently only accept cash in any deal that would see Matias Silvestre move to San Siro.

Rosanero President Maurizio Zamparini this week suggested that there was a 99 per cent chance that the transfer would take place.

However, new director Giorgio Perinetti has told Stadio News that he doesn’t expect to negotiate a cash plus player deal.

“We are working on the Silvestre deal,” the former Siena official noted. “However, we don’t anticipate that it will include any other player.”

Silvestre, valued at around €10m, is an Argentine central defender who is likely to replace Lucio in the Beneamata squad ahead of the 2012-13 season.
