Inter talent Cesare Casadei has now departed for London to complete his €15m move to Chelsea.
The Blues agreed to pay €15m plus €5m in add-ons for the exciting 19-year-old forward, who has long been followed by the Premier League side. Chelsea believe Casadei to be one of the top prospects in Europe and want him to grow into a star for the first team.
Speaking via TMW at the airport, Casadei underlined his excitement at the move to Chelsea.
“Yes, I’m so ready to start. I’m always ready.”
Inter knew that some players needed to be sold this summer in order to resolve some financial concerns, so the club decided to cash in on their youth prospects instead of losing first team players like last year.
Andrea Pinamonti joined Sassuolo in a deal worth around €20m and now Casadei will guarantee another €15m. Eddie Salcedo could be sent to Belgian side Standard Liege as well, further generating resources.
The 19-year-old Casadei shined for the Inter Primavera team last season, scoring 14 goals in 30 league games.
