Carrera: ‘Conte to Inter unlikely’

Massimo Carrera does not think Inter have much hope of luring Antonio Conte to San Siro from Chelsea.

In his first season in the English Premier League, the Italian Coach is on the verge of leading the Blues to the title. They have also secured a place in the final of the FA Cup, where they will face Arsenal.

And Carrera, who worked as Conte's assistant during stints with Juventus and the Italy national team, believes the temptation to coach Chelsea in the Champions League will prove too great for the 47-year-old to refuse.

"I don't know what thoughts will go through Conte's head," Carrera, now in charge of Russian side Spartak Moscow, told Tutti Convocati.

"But the opportunity to go for the Champions League with Chelsea would be very tempting.

"Abramovich will do everything he can to keep him. It would be a huge error to lose him."

Inter are said to be offering Conte an annual salary of €12m should he decide to return to Italy, with the promise of several marquee signings to bolster his squad.
