Newly-promoted Carpi earned a 1-0 friendly win over Al-Ahli last night thanks to Raphael Martinho.

The Emilia-Romagna club is preparing for its first ever Serie A campaign after winning the Serie B title in May.

Martinho got the decisive goal when he turned in the rebound, as Antonio Di Gaudio’s initial attempt was parried.

“I am satisfied with what I say tonight,” said Coach Fabrizio Castori.
