It’s a genuine fairytale for Carpi, a side originally founded in 1909 that went bankrupt and began again from the amateur Leagues in 2000, not making it back into Lega Pro until 2010.

They’ve never been in the top flight and 2013-14 was their first foray into Serie B.
“We mustn’t make the mistake of being hasty,” warned Coach Fabrizio Castori.
“We realise the importance of what is at stake and that we could achieve our objective. However, it is not the final day of the season and this must give us the advantage of playing with a relaxed state of mind.
“Frosinone are one of the form teams and have won 11 home games, so it won’t be easy getting points off them in front of their own fans.”
This season Carpi have won 21 games, drawn 11 and lost only four, scoring 57 goals and conceding 24.
With promotion they would set up an all-new local derby with Sassuolo.
