Carpi have released a statement slamming the “serious and unacceptable” behaviour of Modena President Antonio Caliendo.
The Biancorossi players were locked out of Stadio Alberto Braglia this afternoon when arriving for training, with the Modena Primavera training on the pitch.
Having signed an agreement to share the ground with the Canarini, the newly-promoted side have released a statement decrying Caliendo’s actions.

Having signed an agreement to share the ground with the Canarini, the newly-promoted side have released a statement decrying Caliendo’s actions.
“Carpi FC 1909, following the very serious and unacceptable behaviour of the President of FC Modena, Antonio Caliendo, wishes to point out the following, to protect our good name, reputation and our rights which have been grossly violated,” a Press release on the club’s website began.
The lengthy statement goes on to detail payments for rent on the stadium, payable to Modena in 12 monthly installments.
As revealed earlier today, a court order has meant payment would be seized to pay debts accrued by Modena, and the statement reiterates this.
“In any case, the head of Modena FC does not have the right to prevent Carpi FC from entering the stadium, even assuming we were in breach of the agreement, something which never occurred in practice.”
The move is described as “devoid of any logic and legal basis” and being “in bad taste and dubious credibility”.
The Biancorossi “reserve the right to reconsider our position” on the stadium, to which they have committed €700,000 over a two-year period as “we cannot be held hostage”.
