Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali assures stars like Davide Frattesi ‘will not move until the end of the season’ and is concerned the 15-point penalty to Juventus ‘harms Italian football.’

The Neroverdi are in crisis after managing just one point from seven rounds and visit Monza this afternoon.

You can see all the details from that game as it happens here.

Speaking to DAZN before kick-off, CEO Carnevali reassured supporters that there will be no January exodus of talent at the Mapei Stadium.

“It is beyond doubt that we have some strong individuals, but we have to prove it on the field and hopefully this game against Monza can give us some positive signals.

“I can confirm that the most important players will not move until the end of the season.”

Frattesi is the hottest transfer property, as while he has made it clear that he favours a return to hometown club Roma, there is also interest from Napoli, Juventus, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.

Serie A was shaken this week by news Juventus have been docked 15 points for artificially inflating transfer fees to boost capital gains.

This could be only the beginning, as other deals were flagged by the Prisma investigation, including some that were agreed with Sassuolo.

“I only read about Sassuolo’s involvement in the newspapers, so I don’t know where that came from.”

Carnevali was asked what he thought about the sentence sending Juventus plummeting down the table.

“It’s sad and it is harmful for Italian football. I hope it can give us all the opportunity to start again, because Italian football in general is struggling.”
