Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali confirms Fiorentina have made an offer to sign Domenico Berardi, but the Neroverdi don’t want to sell their star in January.
Berardi has been pushing to join Vincenzo Italiano’s side since the summer, but Fiorentina failed to reach an agreement with Sassuolo.
Tuttomercatoweb has reported that La Viola are ready to offer €30m in January, but Carnevali insists Berardi won’t leave the Mapei Stadium in the winter transfer window.
“Berardi is the most important player we have and we won’t sell him in January,” the Neroverdi director told Radio 24.
“Fiorentina made an offer, but we are not interested at all. Let’s see what happens, but Berardi is a crucial player for us. We must receive an important offer, if it’s like the one Fiorentina put on the table, then we are not interested.”
Berardi, 27, has always played with Sassuolo in Serie A.
The Italy international scored 111 goals in 302 appearances across all competitions with the Neroverdi.
His contract at the Mapei Stadium expires in June 2024.
