Italy Under-21 international goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi was undoubtedly Man of the Match in Cremonese’s 0-0 draw with Milan. ‘I am glad I was able to help with my contribution.’

The 22-year-old had missed the first few months of the season after shoulder surgery over the summer, but has now recovered and taken back the gloves, having also helped Cremonese to promotion from Serie B.

“All the suffering we went through, the effort we put in and the sacrifices made to prevent Milan getting many shots away, we fully deserved this point,” Carnesecchi told DAZN after celebrating his many saves at the Stadio Giovanni Zini.

“When I see my teammates battling out there and shouting to communicate, I like to join in too and I am glad that I was able to help with my contribution.”

Cremonese are still without a victory this season, but this was their third consecutive stalemate after Udinese and Salernitana.

“We’ve started picking up a few more points lately, we are happy with the way we are working, there is enthusiasm in the locker room.

“The important thing is that we play with the same attitude, determination and concentration against Empoli this weekend, as there’s the risk this result will make us feel a little presumptuous.”
