Empoli sporting director Marcello Carli confirms Roma and Fiorentina are interested in Lorenzo Tonelli.
The centre-back formed a formidable partnership with Daniele Rugani last season, and has continued his fine form this term.
“There’s interest from a few teams, like Roma and Fiorentina,” Carli admitted, speaking to Tuttomercatoweb.
“There hasn’t been a meeting with the Giallorossi though. [Sporting director Walter] Sabatini called me a few days ago, but there are no meetings scheduled.”

There has also been speculation around Piotr Zielinski and Mario Rui.
“There’s absolutely no truth [in those rumours]. We can’t deprive ourselves of a player like Zielinski, and the same goes for Mario Rui.”
