Parma’s new sporting director Marcello Carli presented himself and announced Fabio Liverani as the new Gialloblu tactician. ‘He’s the right coach for us’.

The former Cagliari director was presented as the new sporting director at Parma and revealed the former Lecce coach will arrive at the Ennio Tardini during his press conference today.

Roberto D’Aversa left the club on Sunday, despite having continued to improve the club’s position by leading the Crociati to 11th in Serie A 2019-20.

Reports claimed Liverani was identified as his replacement, as Carli already wanted the former Giallorossi coach at Cagliari and the new director didn't hesitate to confirm the 44-year-old will take over at Parma.

“We saw the right profile to move forward in D’Aversa,” Carli said at a press conference. “We met and it was very clear.

“I did everything to keep him because he’s a good coach, but there were no conditions to continue.

“The choice fell on Liverani, who is a young man with a lot of desire and enthusiasm. He was the best on the market, he’s the right coach for us."
