Napoli and Brazil legend Antonio Careca is a huge fan of Victor Osimhen and said ‘even Pele would’ve been proud’ of the goal scored against Roma.

It was a spectacular strike to open their eventual 2-1 victory at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, sending them 13 points clear at the top of the Serie A table.

That also consolidated the Nigeria international’s status as Capocannoniere with 14 goals.

“Even someone like Pele would’ve been proud of that goal,” Careca told Canale 8 show Legends.

“The goal that Osimhen scored against Roma was in the Pele style, it was on a technical level simply incredible.”

He controlled the cross first with his chest, then off his thigh before thumping the volley into the roof of the net from a tight angle.

It was all achieved without letting the ball touch the ground.

Brazilian Careca was in the Napoli squad that won the UEFA Cup in 1988-89, the Scudetto in 1989-90 and Supercoppa Italiana in 1990-91.
