Cardinale holds meetings for new Milan stadium

Milan owner Gerry Cardinale met city Mayor Giuseppe Sala and Lombardy Governor Attilio Fontana on Wednesday to explain the club’s plans for their new stadium away from San Siro.

The Rossoneri are determined to drop the original project in San Siro, building a new arena without Inter in the area of La Maura.

Cardinale met Milano’s Mayor Sala and the region’s Governor Fontana on Wednesday to show the club’s plan for their new stadium.

Milan’s new CEO Giorgio Furlani and President Paolo Scaroni joined Cardinale for the meetings.

Inter CEO Alessandro Antonello spoke to reporters on Wednesday, confirming that Milan are considering moving away from San Siro to build a new stadium alone.

The Nerazzurri still hope their city rivals won’t abandon the San Siro project, but in case they do so, they have already prepared a Plan B for their own stadium.

Milan’s Mayor Sala had met representatives of the two clubs on Tuesday and said, ‘nobody wants the old San Siro anymore.’
