Cardinale heading to San Siro for Milan-Newcastle

Milan owner Gerry Cardinale will be in the stands at San Siro for Milan’s Champions League match against Newcastle United.

The Rossoneri are in an awkward spot heading into their European opener against the Magpies, having suffered an embarrassing 5-1 loss to Inter, their fifth consecutive Derby della Madonnina loss.

Apart from that stumble, Milan have looked good in the early stages of the 2023-24 season, so they’ll need to dig deep to bounce back on the European stage.

As noted by Calciomercato.com, Cardinale has decided to travel to Italy to watch Milan’s Champions League clash against Newcastle from the stands of the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

The Rossoneri owner wants to send a clear symbolic message to the squad and the fans, showing the unity of the club for the first game of their European campaign.

Cardinale was widely criticised by Milan fans early in the summer after selling Sandro Tonali to Newcastle, but his investments in the market helped placate the supporters.
