Verona defender Antonio Caracciolo knows “the importance of this goal, but we’re still down there” after beating Chievo 1-0.

The defender got his second goal of the season, the other being in a 3-0 victory over Milan in December.

“I know the importance of the goal, but we’re still down there. We have a series of Finals coming up, this was the first, and we need to keep up that determination in every fixture,” Caracciolo told Sky Sport Italia.

“I know the importance of the goal, but we’re still down there. We have a series of Finals coming up, this was the first, and we need to keep up that determination in every fixture,” Caracciolo told Sky Sport Italia.

It’s increasingly tight in the danger zone, as Verona move above Crotone – who have a game in hand – and the bottom seven (apart from Benevento) are all within a four-point radius.

“This was a victory we earned as a team, but I think we’ve been working as a team for a while now and the results are starting to arrive.

“Evidently that goal under the Curva brings me good luck, as I scored both at that end.”
