“I showed the cameras a banner that read ‘Everything will go well, stay at home.’ In the end, it didn’t go well, but I wanted to tell people to stay home. We had to do it,” the striker told La Repubblica newspaper.

“We must not give up. We must wear face masks and take all the precautions.

“If I had to write a new one, I would write: ‘Vaccinate yourself.’ Even is someone has doubts, it’s the right solution to free ourselves from the pandemic.

“We get used to everything, even to playing without fans, but it’s hard. We are missing the fans, I even miss their insults. But health comes first. It’s not the right time to open stadiums yet.”

The former Empoli striker went on to talk about his career.

“I grew up in clay pitches, but I’ve never had the obsession with becoming a footballer.

“I’ve always played to have fun, but trying to improve myself, and I’ve slowly found my path.”
