La Gazzetta dello Sport claims the idea is to renew the current contract and extend the expiration date until June 2025, when Immobile will have turned 35 years old.

Senad Lulic, who has played 20 games in Serie A this term, turned 34 in January and the Bosnia international will pass on the armband to Immobile when his contract expires in June.

Immobile has declared his wish to remain with the Biancocelesti and will be a natural choice for the captaincy, as he has been leading the line with his valuable contributions in front of goal in recent years.

Only this term, the 30-year-old has scored 27 goals in Serie A and has contributed seven assists in his 26 matches, playing 93 per cent of the minutes available in the League so far.
