Sampdoria striker Gianluca Caprari has been diagnosed with a fractured fibula and will have surgery.

The forward underwent tests today and a club statement confirmed X-Rays showed a fracture to the fibula in his right leg.

More specialist consultations will follow at the Montallegro Clinic before deciding which type of surgery to proceed with.

Caprari had been linked with a January transfer to Sassuolo or Atalanta, but obviously that is no longer on the cards.
