Hellas Verona striker Gianluca Caprari was ‘happy’ with his performance in the 3-2 win over Roma. ‘We turned the game around in a beautiful way’.

Lorenzo Pellegrini gave the away side the lead after 36 minutes, but second half goals from Antonin Barak, Caprari and Davide Faraoni helped Verona win 3-2 against Jose Mourinho’s men.

After a difficult start to the season, Verona bounced back against the Giallorossi, who had won all three games prior to their trip to the Bentegodi.

“We played a great match, especially in the second half,” Caprari said in the mixed zone after the game. “It wasn’t easy after we went down, but we turned the game around in a beautiful way.

“Now, we’ll enjoy the moment. We have prepared for the game in the right way. We must be happy but at the same time think about the next one.”

Caprari scored his first goal for the Gialloblu after arriving from Sampdoria during the summer and the 28-year-old hopes there are many more to come.

“I’m happy and I have to continue on this path,” he said. “I can do much, much more, I can help the team a lot.

“We often try, the more we get to the line, the more we have a chance to score.”

Salernitana await for Verona, who picked up their first three points in the first game without Eusebio Di Francesco at the helm, as Igor Tudor replaced the former coach last week.
