Russia manager Fabio Capello believes “Roma are the only real Scudetto antagonists to Juventus.”

He won Serie A titles with both those clubs and was in Florence today in order to be inducted into the Italian Football Hall of Fame.

“People have said since the start of the season that Juve were the strongest,” noted Capello to the media.

“There were some teams who could contrast them, like Roma, but they have now drawn four in a row. They’re still up there and without European competition to worry about they can be the only real Scudetto antagonists to Juventus.”

Capello was one of eight new entries into the Hall of Fame along with Franco Baresi, Gabriel Batistuta, Massimo Moratti, Gianni Rivera, Eraldo Monzeglio and referees Cesare Gussoni and Sergio Gonnella.

The Russia manager was also asked about the experiment of filling the stands of the Juventus Stadium with over 12,000 children to replace banned ultras.

However, it wasn’t a total success, because many of the kids – all under the age of 13 – still jeered opponents Udinese” data-scaytid=”24″>Udinese and hurled insults at Zeljko Brkic every time he took a goal kick.

“I’d ask myself a few questions after what happened at the Juventus Stadium. If even children start insulting the opposition team, then it means there are serious problems of ethics and sporting attitude in this country.

“If I had been there, I would’ve told the announcer to intervene and make them stop those chants.”
