Former Milan coach Fabio Capello says Ralf Rangnick ‘did interesting but unimportant things’ in Germany and feels the Rossoneri start from scratch again unless they stick with current coach Stefano Pioli.

The 74-year-old, who won four Scudetti and one Champions League as coach of the Diavolo in the 1990s, spoke to Radio Rai about the former RB Leipzig coach’s arrival in Milan.

The 74-year-old, who won four Scudetti and one Champions League as coach of the Diavolo in the 1990s, spoke to Radio Rai about the former RB Leipzig coach’s arrival in Milan.

“I don’t know him, he did interesting, unimportant things in Germany and arrives in a championship he doesn’t know,” Capello said. “It will be another year zero and I believe that Milan will lose yet another season.

“Pioli brought a group mentality previously not seen, the Rossoneri had to continue the path they had taken.

“With a couple of big signings, he could become comptetitive.”
