Russia boss Fabio Capello has given his opinion on the current situations of former clubs Roma, Milan and Juventus.

“Roma can win the Scudetto,” he told Radio Anch'io lo Sport after they dropped their first points of the season at Torino on Sunday.

“The merit goes to boss Rudi Garcia, even if the fact that they have no European commitments has allowed them to start the season strongly.

“Daniele De Rossi has also remained at the club, who is a really important piece of the jigsaw, and Francesco Totti has made a difference too.”

While the capital outfit sit proudly at the top of the table, Milan are in eleventh place – a staggering 19 points behind the Giallorossi.

“I haven’t spoken to Milan President Silvio Berlusconi for about a year as he’s been busy with politics,” the former England manager added.

“He has a substitute in Adriano Galliani who has done well. There are years where you make wrong signings and the blame is placed on the Coach or on who buys.

“This is one of those years at Milan. You can make mistakes when buying and selling. I’m referring to Andrea Pirlo.

“You can’t lose a player like that on a Bosman.”

Pirlo moved to Juventus and he has helped inspire the Old Lady to two successive Scudetti. Now the club want to make an impact in Europe.

“Boss Antonio Conte has worked in an extraordinary manner,” Capello added. “But you have to admit Juventus have invested on the market.

“I’m convinced they can do well in the Champions League. They have brought a player in Carlos Tevez who can make the difference.

“This Juve perhaps has more hunger and aggressiveness than mine. They have 10 players who play compact.”

Juventus will face another of Capello’s former clubs on Tuesday when Real Madrid arrive in the Champions League.
