Fabio Capello gave some advice to league leaders Napoli and underlined the quality on display on the pitch this season.
The Partenopei stormed to the top of the Serie A table in the first half of the season, and after 19 games have an historic 12-point lead over second place Milan, giving them their best shot of winning the league title for the first time since the days of Diego Maradona.
Napoli have looked equally strong in the Champions League, topping a group containing Liverpool, Ajax and Rangers. They’ll face Eintracht Frankfurt in the Round of 16 of the competition.
Speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, Capello first compared this Napoli side to his Scudetto winning Roma, giving them some advice.
“The Scudetto at Napoli would be like my Scudetto at Roma. Napoli must remain focused, they must not give up.
“The team, however, are there and seem to have no problems. The players have now understood what their strengths are, and great credit also goes to Spalletti.”
He also touched on the Partenopei’s chances in the Champions League this season.
“Napoli are dangerous for all teams, if they play with humility they can go ahead anywhere.”
Finally, Cappello commented on the on-pitch quality in the Campania capital this season and the strength of individuals.
“Kvara and Osimhen are doing very well, but let’s not forget who’s behind them, the other players highlight their work.”
