Former Milan boss Fabio Capello claims the Rossoneri “don’t have any personality” after another poor performance against Lazio.
Milan lost 2-1 to Lazio last night, condemning them to their worst start for 78 years, and Capello admits he is worried about the club he led to so much success in the 1990s.
“Milan are in trouble, the 73-year-old told Radio Anch’io Sport.
“The players aren’t of a great level, you can tell. They are playing with fear.”
He reserved particular criticism for Lucas Paqueta and Rafael Leao, claiming the pair were not living up to expectations.
“They don’t have any personality and they don’t perform according to their set value.
“Paqueta has quality, but he doesn’t show it. Leao made me nervous against Lazio. He needs to keep playing when Milan don’t have possession.
“Yesterday he played only when he had the ball at his feet. I repeat, I think the problems Milan are facing are in their heads.
“When you don’t have a lot of quality and your head is not working… The situation at the club might have an impact.
“I don’t see a leader, a captain, not only someone who wears the armband, but a player who can also help extend the ideas of the coach and create a collective.”
