Alessandro Costacurta and Fabio Capello maintain ‘if there’s a team that can cause Bayern Munich problems, it’s Lazio.’
They will face off in the Champions League Round of 16 with the first leg next week.
“I believe that Lazio are the worst possible opponent that Bayern Munich could’ve picked in the Round of 16,” Costacurta told Sky Sport Italia.

“I believe that Lazio are the worst possible opponent that Bayern Munich could’ve picked in the Round of 16,” Costacurta told Sky Sport Italia.
“The Germans are still the favourites, of course, but the open spaces that Bayern leave mean if there’s a team that can cause them real problems, it’s Lazio.
“We already saw their two best performances in the Champions League this season were against another German club, Borussia Dortmund.”
Veteran coach Capello shared the view that Lazio could cause a real upset against the reigning European and World champions.
“I agree, as I saw them play against Inter and even if they are pressed, they can still play football. The midfielders are still able to gather and turn, which can cause trouble for a Bayern side whose defending leaves me a little perplexed.”
