Fabio Capello reveals he rejected a proposed exchange between Roma legend Daniele De Rossi and Juventus midfielder Edgar Davids.
“I wanted to bring Davids to Roma, so Juve asked for De Rossi as part of the deal. I said no,” Capello told the Corriere dello Sport.
“After having given him his debut, I warned everyone that this player was not going to budge from Roma. He proved his character as a real leader from the very beginning.”

Capello was on the Giallorossi bench from 1999-2004, before moving on to Juventus, Real Madrid, England, Russia and Jiangsu Suning.
De Rossi made his Serie A debut in January 2003, while Dutch international Davids was at Juve from January 1998 to 2004.
