Fabio Capello has suggested that the key battle during Sunday evening’s headline fixture between Napoli and Inter will be between full-backs Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Federico Dimarco.

The two Azzurri representatives will go head-to-head on the same flank when the two sides face off at the Stadio Maradona.

Both Di Lorenzo and Dimarco are known for their attacking contributions rather than their defensive solidity, and both come into their own after crossing the halfway line, as Capello wrote in his column with La Gazzetta dello Sport

The former Milan, Roma and Juventus coach believes that Di Lorenzo is capable of creating from any situation, especially when he plays behind Matteo Politano on the right-wing.

The same also goes for Dimarco, who also has a useful set-piece delivery in his armoury, which, as Capello writes, could come in very handy in tightly contested matches.

It is also hard to ignore the expected return of Victor Osimhen to the Napoli starting line-up for the first time since his recent hamstring injury. His presence, according to Capello, will also relieve some of the attacking and mental responsibility from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

This will give Inter’s back three, who will be without both Alessandro Bastoni and Benjamin Pavard, quite a bit to think about.

Capello believes that Inzaghi must avoid allowing Napoli’s attackers to go one-on-one with Inter’s defenders.

In a back three, Capello suggests that Inter will leave spaces in behind, which means that there must be particular attention on Kvaratskhelia and his ability to beat practically anyone on the dribble.
