Former Milan coach Fabio Capello has criticised Zlatan Ibrahimovic for his decision to attend Sanremo. ‘It’s a contradiction’.
The 39-year-old has been announced as a contributor during the prestigious Sanremo music festival and should attend every night from Tuesday March 2 to Saturday March 6.
But Capello has claimed the veteran is ‘contradicting’ himself, as he wants to be an example to follow on the training ground.
“He wanted to go there,” Capello told Sky Sport Italia. “But being a professional who wants to convey seriousness and commitment during training, this is a contradiction, in my opinion.”
Milan are currently in the Scudetto race and prepare for decisive games in the Europa League and in Italy.
The Rossoneri will reportedly send a personal trainer with the striker, to follow him step by step and prepare him for the match against Hellas Verona on March 7 – the day after the final evening of the 71st edition of the Festival.
“I would never have sent him, honestly,” Capello said. “He’s paid by the club and therefore must have respect for the club and the fans.
“The club should have banned it, you can’t commute between Sanremo and Milan.”
