Fabio Capello underlined the potential of Giacomo Raspadori and suggested he could be a good fit to replace Paulo Dybala.

The Argentinian forward is set to leave Turin after seven years in June, forcing Juventus to find a strong long-term replacement to work with Dusan Vlahovic up front. The Bianconeri have a number of ideas and Raspadori is among them, but they’ll have to think fast as the summer transfer window approaches.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Capello spoke highly of Raspadori and compared him to Dybala.

“Young, he has quality, remarkable vision of the game and knows how to enter the penalty area. With a dynamism that Dybala now lacks.

“But we need to see if he has the personality to wear the Juve shirt. In the national team he didn’t suffer despite the transition from Sassuolo. He has great potential.”

The 22-year-old Raspadori, who is contracted to Sassuolo until 2024, has made great strides this season under Alessio Dionisi. The Italian forward has scored 10 goals and provided five assists in 32 Serie A appearances this season, attracting the attention of a number of top clubs.

Raspadori seems destined for the jump to a big club now, setting up an exciting summer for the 22-year-old Italian.

3 thought on “Capello considers Raspadori as possible Dybala replacement”
  1. He’s already been there, Ringo. Won well at Juve. Everyone remembers his formidable team that also contributed to loads of World Cup winners and runners up in the same year.

  2. i like raspadori direct style. for me dybala wants to drop deep and hold unto the ball. it is the reason why juve dont get alot of counterattacking goals. he would do well at juve raspadori. reminds me of miccolli as he is good with both feet.
