According to Sky Sport Italia, Fabio Cannavaro is in negotiations to take over as the coach of Turkish side Adana Demirspor, where he would unite with Mario Balotelli.

The 50-year-old tactician spent much of his management career outside of Italy, working at Guangzhou Evergrande, Tianjin Quanjian and the China national team, as well as Al-Nassr.

There was a brief experience as coach of Benevento in Serie B from September 2022 to February 2023.

Now the 2006 World Cup and Ballon d’Or winner is said to be in talks for a new experience in Turkey at Adana Demirspor.

The club has a long history of Italian connections, including previous coach Vincenzo Montella, who is now in charge of the Turkey national team.

Current coach Patrick Kluivert was dismissed on December 4 after eight wins, six draws and six defeats in all competition.

If confirmed, Cannavaro will be the coach of former Italy star Balotelli, as well as ex-Milan striker M’Baye Niang and one-time Lazio and Venezia winger Nani.
