Sassuolo defender Paolo Cannavaro could retire from football in January to join his older brother Paolo at Guangzhou Evergrande.

According to Napoli Magazine, the two siblings plan to be reunited in China as part of the same coaching staff.

Paolo is 36 years old and was expected to hang up his boots at the end of this season.

However, the centre-back could quit Sassuolo and football early in order to start his management career.

Fabio Cannavaro retired from football in 2011 and returned to Guangzhou Evergrande last month.
